Makros, represented by its Export Manager, Irene Ferrari, was among the speakers at the Digital Archive Expo in Astana, Kazakhstan – an international event organised by the Archives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held from 8 to 12 June. The company presented BacteriaBlockfire, a system designed to provide combined protection for archival and cultural heritage against fire and bacteria. This is a source of pride, given that to qualify, it was necessary to propose a new technology – one that did not yet exist – at an international level. The Digital Archive Expo brought together global players, ranging from the United Nations and UNESCO to the Kazakh Ministries of Culture, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, and the Economy.
